A random port number between 10000 and 32767 is needed and will be used to access Sportarr. The port number 29868 has automatically been generated and will be used throughout this article, but can be changed if needed.

Connect to your slot using SSH

1. Create ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml

    mkdir -p ~/sportarr; touch ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml
   

2. Open the file with nano ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml and add the text in this text box to the file

    services:
        sportarr:
        image: docker.io/sportarr/sportarr:latest
        container_name: sportarr
    environment:
        - PUID=0
        - PGID=0
        - UMASK=022
        - TZ=UTC  # Optional: use your own timezone
    volumes:
        - /home/user/sportarr:/config
        - /home/user/files:/data
    ports:
        - 29868:1867
    restart: unless-stopped
   

   Save the file by pressing Ctrl+S then exit nano with Ctrl+X

3. Run the Sportarr application

    podman-compose -f ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml up -d
   

After returning to your shell prompt, Sportarr will be accessible at http://localhost:29868. You should immediately access this URL and start the setup wizard. Authentication is required; make sure to select one option like Forms. You may not be able to add a torrent client in the setup wizard; you can add one later at http://localhost:29868/settings/downloadclients where you can check Use SSL. To update Sportarr, run this command to restart into the latest version: podman-compose -f ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml down; podman-compose -f ~/sportarr/sportarr.yml up -d
